How to Build an 8-Figure Business
Did you know there’s a HIDDEN SECRET that can give you the confidence to:
- Close every deal
- Inspire every audience
- And build an 8-figure business?
Before I reveal the secret, let me tell you a quick story…
Many years ago, I was given the opportunity to become a speaker and trainer for Tony Robbins and Chet Holmes at Business Breakthroughs International. They handed me a 2.5-hour workshop script and said, "Here you go… learn it."
So, I did exactly as I was told.
And guess what?
Crickets.
I gave 2-3 trainings per week, but I didn't close a SINGLE Entrepreneur into their $5,000 Ultimate Business Mastery program. My confidence was shaky, despite having built two 8-figure businesses over the previous 10 years.
Now, this story isn’t unique to me…
According to a recent study by Harvard Business Review, even top-performing CEOs experience self-doubt. What separates the successful ones is their ability to manage and overcome it—And THAT’S the hidden secret.
Confidence isn't about never doubting yourself; it's about managing those doubts effectively. It’s about finding resilience in uncertainty, and it starts with these 3 strategies:
Strategy #1: Focus on Your Mindset
Your mind is like a garden; what you plant and nurture will grow… so make sure you’re always planting seeds of confidence and positivity. I did this by revisiting an audio program I bought when I was 16 that teaches how to do exactly that.
I listened to it twice a day back then, and it reminded me that belief in yourself is everything. This consistent reinforcement helped me rebuild my confidence from the ground up.
Strategy #2: Focus on Serving
I stopped worrying about closing deals and started caring about truly serving those I was training. Because when you genuinely aim to help others and provide value, it creates a natural confidence that resonates with people. They can sense your authenticity and are more likely to trust and invest in what you’re offering.
The Tenach (Hebrew Bible) explains it best:
"And you draw out your soul to the hungry, and an afflicted soul you sate, then your light shall shine in the darkness, and your darkness shall be like noon."
Isaiah 58:10
Strategy #3: Be Authentic
I stopped following the script word-for-word and instead infused my personality and experiences into the training. After introducing Chet and Tony, I asked the audience if they wanted to know a little about me, why I’m here, and why I’m qualified to share this information. They always said yes, so I shared what I had built along with my personal stories and struggles. This one little shift changed everything.
Because at the end of the day, people connect with stories and authenticity. So by going off-script and showing your true self, you can build deeper connections and trust with your audience.
After implementing these 3 strategies, my confidence soared. As a result, Entrepreneurs began investing in the business growth program, and soon, students were even requesting me to be their personal coach.
Within 90 days, I was enrolling people at the highest levels ever seen in the company—A 63.4% increase over the previous average enrollment rate!
And the success didn't stop there; it kept growing.
So, the next time you’re experiencing self-doubt due to an unexpected failure, refer back to these 3 strategies.
Remember that confidence isn't about never doubting yourself; it's about managing those doubts effectively.
To your success,
David

90% of startups FAIL because of this…
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics:
- 20% of new businesses fail during the first 2 years
- 45% fail during the first 5 years
- 65% fail during the first 10 years
Only 25% of businesses make it to 15 years or more.
So why do some startups thrive while others barely survive?
People always ask me how small businesses can stand out in today’s crowded market. After working with Entrepreneurs for 20+ years, I’ve learned that the secret lies not just in what you sell, but in how you tell your story.
Think about it.
You may have a GREAT product or service…But so do thousands of others. To separate yourself from the competition, you must connect with your audience on a deeper level.
- According to a study by Forbes, 90% of startups ultimately fail due to a lack of differentiation and a compelling brand story.
- Proverbs tells us:
"A man's gift makes room for him and brings him before the great."
— Proverbs 18:16
Your gift is your uniqueness. There is only one you, and only one of your company, so how you share your unique gifts and stories will help your brand stand out from the countless others. In other words, the businesses that succeed are those that create meaningful connections with their customers. It's not just about selling a product or service; it's about selling a result combined with an experience based on your vision.
For example…Let’s say you wanted to open a coffee shop this year. You could have:
- A menu with boring drinks and pastries
- Outdated décor that belongs in the 90s
- Generic customer service—nothing special
- Or maybe just another Starbucks clone
The problem? Sure, it's functional. But there's no story, no personality, no uniqueness. Besides proximity, what makes a potential customer want to walk into your coffee shop versus the other three down the street?
NOTHING.
Now, imagine a different scenario:
You open a specialty coffee shop that sources beans from small, sustainable organic farms around the world.
- Baristas know your name and favorite drink
- Coffee beans are roasted in-house daily to ensure the freshest cup every time
- The shop is filled with cozy corners, fun board games, and art from local artists
- Up-and-coming musicians play live acoustic music three nights a week Now, this isn't just a place to get a caffeine fix. It's an experience, a community, a story that people want to be a part of.
The difference is clear.
Now the question is… how do you create your compelling vision and story?
Here are 3 tips to craft a compelling brand story that attracts loyal, lifelong customers like a moth to a flame. 👇
- Be Authentic
Authenticity is key. People can tell when you're being genuine, and they can also tell when you're being fake. Share your successes and failures, and let your audience see the real you. Tell stories with a point and an outcome that leads to the journey you want them to take.
2. Create an A+ Customer Journey
Map out every touchpoint your customer has with your brand—from discovery to purchase to post-purchase support. Capture your customers' names and emails and connect with them by providing added value throughout their journey.
Ensure that every interaction is seamless, enjoyable, and aligned with your brand story. (Barista’s knowing your name and favorite drink is a GREAT example!) The goal is to make your customers feel valued and appreciated at every stage.
3. Create Emotional Connections
Humans are naturally emotional beings, and tapping into these feelings can create a deep and lasting bond with your audience. So, whether it's a personal anecdote about your journey or a customer success story, do your best to share the highs and lows, the victories and challenges. Let people see the heart and soul behind your brand… ESPECIALLY in an AI-driven world where everyone is starting to look and sound the same!
So, take a moment to reflect on your story and how you can share it with the world.
Remember, it’s not just about what you sell, but how you tell your story that will make all the difference.
To your success,
David

The ‘One Minute’ Rule Can Change Your Life…
Have you ever noticed that the most successful people are often the most productive? There's a reason for that… 👇
In life, whether you want to achieve financial stability, personal growth, or professional success, the amount of time, energy, and effort we put in tends to directly correlate with what we get out.
Put maximum effort in? Get maximum results.
Put minimal effort in? Get minimal results.
So let’s face it—Minimal effort does not equate to maximum output. Yet, we all know someone who seems to always have a story.
You know…The ones who always have a reason for why they can't, why they didn't, or why they won't.
- "I CAN’T start my business because I don't have enough money."—Yet they never look for ways to raise funds or start smaller.
- "I DIDN’T go to the gym because I'm too busy."—Despite spending hours on Netflix or social media.
- "I WON’T invest in learning a new skill because it's too late for me."—Ignoring the many successful late bloomers who prove otherwise.
Their days are filled with 10% effort, and they often wonder why they haven’t achieved anything significant yet. Proverbs directly speaks to this:
“The sluggard does not plow in the autumn; he will seek at harvest and have nothing."
— Proverbs 20:4
But there is good news:
You have the power to choose your path starting at this moment.
Productivity is an easy habit to fall into once you create momentum. Just like a muscle, the more you exercise your will for action, the stronger it becomes.
These days, many Entrepreneurs are starting to fall into the ‘all or nothing’ trap.
They want to launch a perfect product, have the perfect strategy to scale, or write the perfect book in one go. But they hold back because they feel they aren't fully prepared or it's not the right time. This mentality only leads to paralysis by analysis.
If this sounds like someone you know, I encourage you to share the 'one-minute rule' with them. Spend just one minute every day on the task you’ve been avoiding.
Yes…Just ONE MINUTE.
Why? Because one minute is infinitely better than zero minutes. Imperfect action beats perfect inaction every day.
How does this work? Start with something small.
- If it’s exercise, do a one-minute workout.
- If it’s writing, write for one minute.
- If it’s your business, spend one minute brainstorming ideas or doing research.
Once a habit of one minute has been established, it’s easier to bump up to five minutes, then ten, and before you know it, an hour or more can be dedicated to achieving a goal each day.
This gradual increase isn’t just about building stamina; it’s designed so one can overcome the mental barrier that stops them from starting in the first place. It's about proving to our unconscious mind that we can commit to our goals, no matter what they may be.
It’s like the domino effect—Pushing that first, tiny domino creates a chain reaction that can topple much LARGER dominoes. Each small step taken today is a mini victory that sets the stage for future, larger successes.
So, let's make a commitment today, no matter how small. Who knows? It could be the single push that starts an avalanche of success you've been dreaming about. Or if you’re already on the right track, forward this email with someone who needs to hear this message.
Small steps can lead to giant leaps, and it all starts with just one minute.
To your success,
David

#1 Secret Ingredient to Unbreakable Customer Loyalty
In today's crowded and competitive market, capturing and retaining your customers' attention and loyalty can feel like an uphill battle.
Every day, they are bombarded with countless options and offers, making it a race to the top for companies vying for their attention and devotion.
So, how do you make your business stand out and create an experience that not only captures your clients' hearts but also boosts your bottom line?
The answer lies in a simple (yet extremely powerful) principle:
Overdelivering.
Overdelivering means going above and beyond the status quo, delivering more than what was originally expected, and creating an experience that's truly exceptional.
It's about making a lasting impression, leaving your customers feeling valued, and building an unbreakable relationship based on trust and rapport.
Think of your customer experience as a dish you're whipping up in the kitchen.
Sure, you could throw together the bare minimum ingredients, call it a day, and hope for the best… But why settle for just “okay” when you can create a feast fit for a king?
Adding that special touch, going the extra mile, and delivering more than what's expected is the #1 secret ingredient to taking your client experience to the next level.
But why is overdelivering so important for building brand loyalty?
Picture this. You've just finished dining at a restaurant, and the server leaves you with a complimentary dessert that you didn't expect.
How would that make you feel?
Chances are you’d feel valued and appreciated, and you're more likely to recommend the restaurant to your friends and family and return for future visits.
Because the truth is when clients feel genuinely appreciated, they are more likely to stick around and keep coming back…Even in the face of competition.
The same thing goes for employees and team members — When you show your team appreciation and recognition for their hard work, they are much more likely to stay loyal to your company and perform at their best.
At Business Nitrogen, we know this all too well…
Our core values revolve around recognizing and rewarding our team members for their hard work and dedication, and the results speak for themselves; a happy, motivated team that consistently delivers exceptional work for clients.
(No wonder why our attrition rate is ridiculously low!)
Another example of a company that has successfully incorporated overdelivering into its business strategy is Zappos.
The online shoe retailer has made it a part of its culture by offering 24/7 customer support, a 365-day return policy, and regularly surprising customers with unexpected bonuses like upgraded shipping.
Another great example is Ritz Carlton, the luxury hotel chain which is renowned for its attention to detail and exceptional guest experiences.
They have made overdelivering a part of their culture by empowering employees to make decisions on the spot to enhance guest experiences… such as offering free room upgrades, providing special amenities, and going above and beyond to address any issues or concerns.
But here’s the REAL kicker…
Although building trust and loyalty takes YEARS of consistent hard work, it’s important to note that it only takes a few seconds to break it.
One negative experience, one poor customer service interaction, or one broken promise can ruin all of the good work you've put into building a strong relationship with your customers.
So, it's crucial to always remember that your clients (and team members) are the backbone of your business, and their happiness and satisfaction should always be at the forefront of your mind.
To help you get started incorporating “overdelivering strategies” into your business, I put together a list of 3 actionable steps you can take immediately:
- Personalize Your Clients’ Experience
Personalizing the clients’ experience is one of the simplest, yet most effective ways to overdeliver.
It shows your customers that you care about their individual needs and preferences, and goes a long way in building trust and loyalty.
For example, consider sending personalized thank you notes, birthday or anniversary greetings, or even offering customized recommendations based on your customer's previous purchases.
2. Offer Exceptional Customer Support
Offering exceptional customer support is another key way to overdeliver.
Going above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction can make all the difference, especially in today's digital age where immediate response times are expected.
One creative way to offer exceptional customer support is by offering a unique “concierge” service, where customers can reach out with any questions or concerns and receive a prompt and personalized response.
3. Surprising and Delighting
Finally, surprising and delighting your clients is a great way to make a lasting impression and create an experience they won't forget.
For example, a restaurant could offer a complimentary glass of champagne to celebrate a special occasion, or a spa could provide a free upgrade to a VIP treatment for a client's birthday.
Another idea is to throw in an additional service or value-creating asset at no charge (just because you feel your client could benefit from it).
These small gestures can have a BIG impact on customer satisfaction and loyalty.
So, there you have it, —Overdelivering is the #1 secret to standing out in a crowded market and creating a client experience that will keep them coming back for more.
Overdelivering also creates RAVING FANS.
By personalizing their experience, offering exceptional support, and surprising and delighting them, you'll be well on your way to building a truly remarkable relationship between you and your clients (and team members).
To your success,
David
