And when I think of why people embark on this crazy journey, a myriad of reasons come to mind.

Some are driven by the desire to solve a problem or fill a gap in the market. Some are motivated by the freedom and flexibility that comes with being their own boss. But for many, the motivation stems from a deeper, more personal place.

I think of those whose families made great sacrifices to provide them with better opportunities, like the countless immigrants who risked everything to come to America: The land of dreams and possibilities.

They left their homes, their loved ones, and their entire lives behind, driven by the promise of a brighter future for their children and their children’s children.

These children, now grown (or soon to be), carry the weight of their parents' sacrifices and the hope of their dreams.

They see Entrepreneurship as a way to honor those sacrifices, to seize the opportunities their parents fought so hard for, and to create a legacy of success that transcends generations.

To them and many others, becoming an Entrepreneur is a testament to their courage, resilience, and ambition.

Being an Entrepreneur is something that I've always dreamed of. It's not just about the freedom, but about the opportunity to participate in transforming people's lives.

Growing up, I heard stories from my paternal grandfather (whose family were immigrants from Russia in the early 1900s).

His father had a shoe shop and worked in a factory, getting paid per piece.

The cool thing about his job?

He had a knack for working faster and smarter than anyone else, and that hard work allowed him to save up enough to eventually buy a piece of land in Warren Township, New Jersey.

At first, it was just a spot for the family to hang out on weekends. But it was such a cool place that people started asking him, "Hey, can we come too?"

And so, bit by bit, this family weekend hangout spot turned into something much BIGGER. It transformed into a resort called Forest Lodge.

I grew up hearing stories of how my family built up this resort from the ground up —Digging a swimming pool, building a house, and even turning it into a place that could host corporate events.

Those stories have stuck with me, showing me the power of hard work, the value of ingenuity, and the true spirit of Entrepreneurship.

On the other side of my family tree, my maternal grandfather had a different but equally inspiring journey.

When most people his age are thinking about slowing down, he decided to switch gears COMPLETELY.

At 50, he made a bold move that left many scratching their heads - he sold everything he owned and jumped headfirst into the world of business.

From an outsider's perspective, this might have seemed like a wild gamble, but for my grandfather, it was a leap of faith in himself and his vision.

He wasn't just starting a business; he was living out a dream.

His venture started small, as most businesses do, but with his unwavering determination and tireless work ethic, it grew.

And it didn't just grow…It flourished.

By the time he was ready to step back, his company had become the largest of its kind in the ENTIRE SOUTHEAST!

How to Become a Servant Leader Like Gandhi

It's a shift from the traditional leadership paradigm where the leader is at the top, holding all the power, to one where the leader is at the base, empowering others.

Here’s another way to think of it…

The difference between servant leadership and traditional leadership is like the difference between a pyramid and an inverted pyramid.

❌ Pyramid: The leader is at the top, with the team members forming the base.

✅ Inverted Pyramid: The leader forms the base, lifting and supporting the team who now occupy the top position.

It might sound counterintuitive at first, right?

After all, most people think leaders are only meant to lead, not serve.

But let's pause for a moment and talk about a servant leader we all know of: Mahatma Gandhi.

Gandhi was not a traditional leader. He didn't command armies, he didn't lead a nation, and he didn't flaunt power. Yet, his influence was GLOBAL.

Gandhi led India to independence by serving the people of his country. He put the needs, well-being, and development of his followers at the forefront.

Despite having millions of followers, Gandhi never sought to elevate himself above them. Instead, he considered himself just one among them, serving their cause.

He once said, "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others." — Mahatma Gandhi

That's the essence of servant leadership.

A letter from Business Nitrogen In Regards to the Conflict In Israel

I wanted to send out a personal message about the incident that occurred on October 7th at 6:30 AM in Israel. A terrorist attack by the terrorist organization Hamas resulted in the loss of over 1,400 Israeli and foreign national lives, including hundreds of innocent babies and children.

Reports have distressingly highlighted instances of these children being subjected to brutal violence in the presence of their own families, with some being kidnapped and raped, while others were murdered, burned alive, or beheaded, as their parents tragically witnessed these acts before meeting their own fateful end.

This incident marks the most violent, brutal, and largest single-event loss of Jewish lives since World War II.

As a Jew, I personally see way too many parallels to pre-WWII and this scares me. I felt that I had to share my thoughts, as so many are remaining silent. This message is not about addressing the history of the region; it is about recognizing the unfounded terror perpetrated by Hamas.

We extend our deepest condolences to those affected, both within Israel and the global Jewish community. The sheer brutality and scale of this incident have been felt internationally, with many countries, (including the United States), expressing condemnation and showing solidarity with Israel.

In the ongoing conflict, we acknowledge there will be the unfortunate loss of life, encompassing both Israeli citizens and non-radical Palestinians. In the face of growing media coverage, it is essential for us, especially as entrepreneurial leaders, to critically assess information, distinguish between factual reports and misinformation, and remain united as a community.

For those with familial, cultural, or religious ties to Israel, we stand with you and understand the pain you may be experiencing. Our community's resilience will be paramount in the coming days and weeks, and we encourage everyone to seek out authentic sources of information, extend compassion, and hope for a resolution leading to peace for all.
