🚀 How to Transform Chaos Into Opportunity

The news has been buzzing lately, and it feels like we've taken a time machine back to the 2008 Recession (or even the 1920s Great Depression…)

In case you missed it, tech giants like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, and Meta have all been announcing layoffs left, right, and center.

And to top it off, major US banks such as First Republic, Credit Suisse, and Silicon Valley Bank are collapsing…With their stocks down OVER 90%!

In the midst of this chaos, you might be wondering:

What do we do?

Should we panic and allow fear to get the best of us, or should we remain clear and focused, be prudent, and hire slowly but steadily?

Well, I'm here to tell you that the answer is the latter. As Entrepreneurs, we must always focus on delivering value for those we serve.

Because in times like these, some of the greatest companies are born and scaled, and I want YOU to be a part of that success story.

Here are three actionable steps to help you navigate through these uncertain times and come out even stronger. 👇

  1. Embrace the Opportunity

First things first…Don't panic!

While layoffs and bank failures might seem scary, they can also present MASSIVE opportunities for savvy Entrepreneurs.

Why?

Because with a shift in the job market, there's an abundance of untapped talent out there just waiting for the right opportunity.

Take advantage of this and be intentional in your hiring process. Seek out individuals who share your vision, values, and passion for growth.

By doing so, you'll be assembling a dream team that can drive your company to new heights.

2. Double Down on Value

In times of economic turmoil, it's easy to fall into the trap of chasing profits at the expense of your customers…But never forget to prioritize creating value for those you serve.

This means understanding their needs, addressing their pain points, and providing solutions that truly make a difference in their lives.

Ask yourself:

  • What problems am I solving for my customers?
  • How can I make my customers' lives better or easier?
  • Are there any gaps in the market that I can fill?

By focusing on value, you’re more likely to withstand the test of time and emerge stronger when the storm has passed.

3. Invest in Innovation

Just like the old saying goes: “When the going gets tough, the tough get innovative!”

Use this time as an opportunity to explore new ideas, technologies, and strategies. Look for ways to streamline your processes, reduce costs, and find new revenue streams.

Think outside the box and be willing to take calculated risks. Remember, it's often during times of uncertainty that the most groundbreaking ideas are born!

And as a matter of fact, not too long ago I discovered my own unique way to take advantage of this shift by acquiring an exclusive AI technology: BestBuyer.AI.

1692198543518?e=1710979200&v=beta&t=qHnUhbVQ3voVr6iu4E2hBQHxJcJZNbFPBzkss6uCdWs

Because in the midst of all this economic uncertainty, there's one thing that remains consistent:

The need to connect with the right customers, at the right time, with the right message.

By harnessing the power of artificial intelligence, our new cutting-edge technology helps deliver your ideal prospects, customizes outreach efforts with ultra personalization, and delivers sky-high open rates and conversion numbers.

Let me explain… BestBuyer.AI analyzes a vast array of data points to create a unique profile of your target audience.

It then scours the digital landscape to find prospects that match that profile, ensuring your marketing efforts are laser-focused and HIGHLY effective.

Imagine being able to cut through the noise and consistently reach the people who genuinely want (and most importantly, NEED) your products and services…That's the power of BestBuyer.AI.

The best part?

It's all automated for you, providing more time to focus on other crucial aspects of your business.

But don't just take my word for it — Here's a real-life success story:

We recently implemented BestBuyer.ai for one of our clients, and the results were nothing short of astonishing.

Over a 30-day period, we sent out 15,000 highly targeted and personalized emails to 5,000 targeted prospects.

The outcome?

A jaw-dropping 30% open rate on COLD EMAILS!

But that’s just the tip of the iceberg…

Over 20% of those who opened the emails responded, and 1% of the targeted prospects said they wanted more information or were open to a meeting! 🎉

So, as we wrap up, let's remember one key takeaway: Uncertain times breed extraordinary opportunities.

Keep your eyes on the prize, focus on value, and never stop innovating. The world is waiting for the next big thing, and that could very well be YOU.

Here's to your collective resilience!

To your success,

David

🎙️ Tune in…The Podcast Revolution

These days it seems like everyone wants to be an “influencer”. The significant rise in new podcasts in the last few years is not only shocking, but it indicates to me that people want to be heard no matter what it is they have to say….

One of the easiest ways to get our message out there is to start a podcast. Heck, your neighbor's cat has a podcast, your grandma's book club has a podcast, and I bet you too probably have a podcast.

But what's the real deal with podcasts? Why are they suddenly becoming so popular among Entrepreneurs and business owners like us?

First of all, let's talk about the benefits…

Podcasts are a FANTASTIC way to build your brand, reach new audiences, and establish yourself as a thought leader in your industry.

By creating content that's valuable, informative, and engaging, you can attract a loyal following of listeners who are eager to hear what you have to say.

But perhaps an even bigger benefit of podcasts is their potential to help you make more money and supercharge the growth of your business.

Because guess what happens when you create a loyal audience of listeners who fully trust and respect you?

You can leverage that relationship to promote your products, services, or even other people's products and services that you believe in.

And since podcast listeners are HIGHLY engaged and interested in the topics they listen to, they are more likely to take action on your recommendations.

But that’s not all podcasts do…

Podcasts also provide a unique opportunity to connect with industry experts.

When inviting guests onto your show (or being a guest on someone else's), you can network and form valuable relationships that could lead to new partnerships, collaborations, or even business opportunities.

PLUS, hosting a podcast can improve your public speaking skills and help you become more comfortable with effectively presenting and communicating your ideas.

This can be incredibly valuable for pitching to investors, speaking at conferences, or simply leading meetings with your team.

Now, if you’re anything like me, after hearing about all of these amazing benefits your brain might be sparking up creative ideas on starting a podcast yourself or reimagine the one you already have.

Matter of fact, in 2019 right before the pandemic, I took initiative and decided to start a podcast of my own.

I truly loved every minute of it… Connecting, learning, and having great conversations with my featured guests!

I had the pleasure of speaking with a wide range of amazing people, from a 96-year-old Holocaust survivor to an original Shark from CNBC’s hit TV show: Shark Tank.

Here’s a short list of who I’ve interviewed…

🎙️  Harry Friedman (96 y/o Holocaust Survivor)

🎙️  Kevin Harrington (Shark on Shark Tank)

🎙️  Eric Maddox (Hunted Saddam Hussein)

🎙️  Drew Manning (Founder of Fit2Fat2Fit)

🎙️  Blake Cory (Real Estate Superstar)

🎙️  Dr. Mindy Pelz (Bestselling Author)

🎙️ …And so many more!

Click here If you would like to listen to a few.

But the BIG question is, with so many podcasts already out there…

How do you stand out from the crowd and attract quality listeners to your show?

First and foremost, it’s important to choose a specific niche or topic that you're passionate about and that aligns with your business or brand.

This will help you stay motivated and committed to creating new episodes, and it will also ensure that your content is relevant and valuable to your target audience.

Another way to stand out is to infuse your podcast with your own personal style and flair. Be yourself, share your personality and sense of humor, and don't be afraid to take risks and try new things.

And of course, always remember that the quality of your content is absolutely paramount.

Take the time to research and prepare each episode, and aim to provide REAL value to your listeners (not some washed up B.S. that you threw together at the very last minute).

So whether it's actionable tips and advice, thought-provoking discussions, or entertaining interviews, make sure your content is something that your listeners will genuinely enjoy and learn from.

And finally, remember to stay patient and persistent.

Building a loyal following takes time and effort, but if you're consistent and committed, you can create a podcast that not only helps you grow your business but also brings joy and value to your listeners.

At the end of the day, starting a podcast is not just about promoting your business or brand, but also about connecting with your audience and providing them with invaluable content.

Always keep your listeners at the forefront of your  mind and strive to deliver content that they will find engaging and informative.

And who knows? Your podcast might just be the inspiration that someone needs to start their own business or pursue their passion…

To your success,

David

🐢 How I Closed a $1.7 Million Deal Being a Tortoise

Picture this…

You've got an idea that could change the world.

It's brilliant, revolutionary, and has the potential to possibly make MILLIONS.

So you quit your day job, pour your life savings into your new venture, and dive headfirst into the Entrepreneurial journey.

But as soon as you start, you're hit with an obstacle.

Maybe it's a lack of funding, a skeptical investor, or a better-positioned competitor…

Or maybe it's your own self-doubt creeping in, telling you that you're not good enough, smart enough, or experienced enough to make it in the cutthroat world of being an Entrepreneur.

What do you do?

Do you throw in the towel and give up on your dreams?

Or do you dig deep, find your inner strength, and push through the adversity with persistence, grit, and determination?

If you chose the latter, then you and I are on the same page —We both agree that persistence is the #1 KEY to becoming a successful Entrepreneur.

But not just any kind of persistence… We're not talking about being pushy or aggressive. We're talking about the “in your face, but nice type of persistence.

The kind that says, "I'm not going anywhere until I get what I want, but I'm going to do it with grace and charm."

So why is persistence so important?

I’m sure you’ve heard about the story of the tortoise and the hare. The hare was fast and confident, while the tortoise was slow and steady.

But who won the race?

The tortoise, of course… 🐢 Why?

Because he didn't give up.

He kept moving forward, even when it seemed like he had no chance of winning…That's the power of being persistent and determined.

And in the wild world of Entrepreneurship, there are countless examples of people who never gave up (even when the odds seemed stacked against them).

Take Sara Blakely, for example. She's the founder of Spanx: A billion-dollar company that makes shapewear for women.

But before she became a billionaire, she faced HUNDREDS of rejections and setbacks. (She even wrote a mock patent application for her idea and sent it to the US Patent Office, just to prove to herself that she was serious about her business!)

Fast forward to today and she's a role model for women Entrepreneurs across the globe.

Another great example is Mark Cuban, the owner of the Dallas Mavericks and a Shark on CNBC’s hit TV show: Shark Tank.

He grew up in a working-class family and started his first business at the age of 12 selling garbage bags door-to-door.

And after trial and tribulation, he went on to become a multi-billionaire through a combination of hard work, hustle, and most importantly…Being persistent.

And then there’s me: David Asarnow.

1690991698328?e=1710979200&v=beta&t=zW6EDPgUea8sZ-cgACWpypA_8GdD8bWc_PsBKcnNQho

Now I may not be a billionaire (yet!), but I've certainly learned the value of persistence in my own Entrepreneurial journey.

One story that comes to mind is when I was trying to secure a $1.7 million deal with Bill Ruggles, who was the Head of Purchasing and Procurement for Sheetz —A regional convenience store chain.

Bill and I met at the National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago. We immediately hit it off and built a relationship, but there was one problem:

He was under contract. So unfortunately, my hands were tied (at least for the time being…)

But that didn’t make me give up on the opportunity. I kept working on it, patiently waiting for the contract to expire so that I could bid on the business.

And when the opportunity finally came, I poured my heart and soul into the proposal and submitted a bid.

However, my excitement was short-lived as Bill was quick to scold me for apparently having the WORST bid among the five he received.

“Whaaat?!?” I exclaimed.

“The worst bid? I just poured my heart and soul into that proposal…There’s no way mine was the weakest.” I thought to myself.

Despite the setback, I refused to give up and asked Bill for another chance, promising to do better.

He initially refused, but I persisted, which eventually convinced him to give me another shot to at least meet with me in person.

So I flew to Altoona, PA the next day, rehearsing my pitch the entire flight. And the next morning I went straight to the Sheetz HQ and sat in the lobby, waiting for Bill to walk up to me.

But 30 minutes came and went, and there was no sign of Bill.

I started to wonder how long Bill would make me wait…One hour became two, and two hours became five. But I stayed put, refusing to give up.

Finally, a lady walked in and said: "Mr. Ruggles will see you now."

We walked into a conference room and spent hours going through the numbers, trying to remind him of his motivators for change outside of price.

Once I got confirmation, I got him to agree to a final shot and presented a new proposal. And at the end of the day, (and after several rounds of heavy negotiations), I FINALLY landed the contract with Sheetz!

It took nearly two years of persistence (and pulling a rabbit out of the hat even when the client said “NO”), but it was well worth it.

My company became a trusted vendor for the chain, and my relationship with Bill was recemented.

That one shot turned into a multi-year (and multi-million dollar) contract that was instrumental in the growth of the business.

Not only that, but it was the final piece to the puzzle in growing to $45 million in annual revenue for this division over 5 years.

And most importantly, it all happened because I refused to give up. I chose to be resourceful…Even when the odds were stacked against me.

So if you're facing a challenge or setback in your own Entrepreneurial journey, remember that persistence, determination (and being resourceful) is the key to overcoming it.

But it's not just about being pushy or aggressive. It's about being “in-your-face nice,” showing that you care about your client's success and are willing to go above and beyond to help them achieve it.

Keep pushing forward, keep believing in yourself, and never give up on your dreams. And remember, you have the power to create the life you want.

All it takes is focus and persistence.

To your success,

David
