👨‍💻 How To Do It All (Without Doing It All)

Have you ever set a big goal (either for yourself or your business) and then immediately felt almost stuck by the thought of how you were going to achieve it?

We've all had moments where the complexity of how to reach those goals start to make us question if they’re even possible. But I’m about to reveal a brand new perspective that could completely transform your approach…

Recently, when I was speaking with Dr. Ben Hardy, he recommended his book: Who Not How.

For me it wasn’t just a book. To me it resembled a goal for all Entrepreneurs drowning in our ambitions. In it, Dr. Hardy presents a simple, yet revolutionary idea:

Don’t get bogged down with the 'HOW', but instead look for the 'WHO'.

Let me explain…

At its core, Hardy argues that the major hurdles in achieving our dreams aren't necessarily about the steps or processes, but more about aligning ourselves with the right individuals.

In other words, it's not about figuring out the 'how-to' of a task, but finding somebody else that can do it better than you ever could.

Think about it…We live in a world saturated with DIY approaches and the glorification of self-reliance.

The problem with that…

We can't—And as much as we hate to admit it, we don’t know how to do EVERYTHING. It's a hard pill to swallow, yet, the truth remains: No matter how talented or knowledgeable we are, there's ALWAYS something outside our expertise.

Heck…Even if we somehow were to master every skill we took an interest in, time would be our ultimate constraint.

So, at some point, we have to admit to ourselves that we can't do it all.

And not only is it okay to pass the baton to someone else, but it’s also imperative for scalable growth. It's all about creating leverage, maximizing resources, and multiplying impact.

For instance, think about Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak – Jobs had the vision and Wozniak had the technical prowess.

They leveraged each other's strengths to create something neither could have achieved alone.

Drawing inspiration from this dynamic duo, here are 3 ways you can implement this principle to scale your business faster (and more effectively). 👇

1. 🔄 Trade 'How' for 'Who'

Often, when faced with a big task or vision, our initial reaction is, "How can I possibly achieve this?"

This mindset immediately limits us, making the entire process feel more burdensome than it should.

Switching that question to "Who can help me achieve this?" makes your life 10X easier.

It immediately liberates you from the constraints of doing everything yourself.

Because now, instead of juggling ten tasks poorly, you can handle two tasks exceptionally well, while your team takes care of the rest.

1. ⭐ Identify Your A-Players

Every team, (be it in sports, business, or any field), has its’ A-Players. These aren't just the top performers; they're the individuals whose skills align perfectly with the task at hand.

To successfully implement the 'Who Not How' principle, you must identify your A-Players.

Look around you…

Your organization, circle of friends, and even family are brimming with talent. Some excel in strategy, some in execution, and others in framework.

Once you've identified them, collaborate.

Success isn't a solo journey. It's a symphony of talents, skills, and experiences, harmoniously working towards a shared goal.

Remember: Two heads are always better than one.

1. 🙏 Trust The Process

Now, this is where many Entrepreneurs mess up. Handing over the reins isn't easy. But remember, if you've picked the right 'Who', trust them to handle the 'How'.

Because it's one thing to recognize talent, and another to trust it.

True delegation goes beyond merely assigning tasks. It's about entrusting a part of your vision to someone else, confident they'll bring it to fruition.

Now, don’t get me wrong, this doesn't mean you abandon oversight.

Regular check-ins, feedback loops, and transparent communication will ensure that everyone remains aligned with the mission at all times.

This Mindset Hack Made Elon Musk $257 Billion

Over the past two decades, I've had the privilege of working with over 10,000+ business owners.

Certainty is not just about being “sure” of something.

HOWEVER, despite his big vision and genuine intentions, his business was stalling.

The reason?

He wasn’t making decisions fast enough, and everyone was waiting on him.

And because he was indecisive, his team didn’t move forward, projects were delayed, and opportunities were missed.

It was like the entire business seemed to be going nowhere.

This Entrepreneur, (like many others), was stuck in a loop of overthinking and second-guessing.

Every decision, no matter how big or small, became a mountain to climb. He was so afraid of making the wrong move that he ended up making NO moves.

Another example of someone who struggled with indecision is Howard Schultz, the former CEO of Starbucks. 👇

During the 2008 financial crisis, consumer spending decreased, Starbucks’ stock plummeted, and for the first time in its history, the company reported a quarterly LOSS.

As a result, Schultz was torn between continuing expansion, closing underperforming stores, laying off employees, or changing the company's strategy entirely.

He took a REALLY LONG TIME to make these decisions, and in the meantime, the company continued to struggle.

Eventually, he decided to close down more than 600 underperforming stores in the United States and lay off thousands of employees.

Schultz admitted that he had waited way too long to make these tough decisions, and his delay in taking action contributed to the company's struggles during that period.

On the other hand, Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, is a perfect example of someone who successfully built a thriving business using certainty. 👇

Musk believed in the future of electric vehicles (EVs) long before it was popular or considered viable.

People laughed at him, mocked him, and preyed on his downfall for years. However, he stuck to his guns, faced the challenges head-on, and remained certain about the path he was on.

Today — (as you already know) — Tesla is a leader in the EV market, and Elon Musk is the richest man in the world.

So, the question now becomes…What can YOU do to cultivate a mindset of certainty and fuel your business growth?

1. 🤞 Trust Your Gut

Your intuition is a powerful tool and often knows what's best for you before your conscious mind does. It's the sum of all your past experiences, knowledge, and wisdom, silently working in the background to guide you.

When you're faced with a decision, and something just doesn't feel right, it's probably because your intuition is picking up on something your conscious mind hasn't yet.

Now, don’t get me wrong…Trusting your gut doesn't mean making impulsive decisions; rather, it means listening to and considering that inner voice as part of your decision-making process.

Over time, as you trust your intuition more, you will find that it becomes a reliable guide in helping you make confident decisions quickly.

1. 📖 Do The Research

Arming yourself with knowledge is CRUCIAL for making informed decisions. Because the more you know about your industry, competitors, and your own business, the more certain you will become.

So, make it a habit to stay informed about the latest trends, technologies, and developments in your field.

Analyze your competitors' strengths and weaknesses and understand how your business compares. Use data and facts to back up your decisions, rather than relying solely on emotions or assumptions.

The more informed you are, the more confident you will feel in your decisions, and the more resilient you will be to external pressures and doubts.

1. 🙌 Embrace Mistakes

Mistakes are a natural and inevitable part of growth. No one is perfect, and everyone makes mistakes. What sets successful people apart is how they DEAL with those mistakes.

Instead of fearing them or beating yourself up over them, embrace them as opportunities to learn and improve. Look at them as R&D (research and development).

Analyze what went wrong, determine what you could have done differently, and apply those lessons to future decisions.

By adopting a growth mindset and viewing mistakes as stepping stones rather than stumbling blocks, you will become more resilient, adaptable, and — (from personal experience) —More successful.

At the end of the day, your mindset is a powerful tool that can propel your business forward or hold it back.

Adopting a mindset of certainty will help you make decisions faster, take calculated risks, and ultimately drive your business growth.

UFOs, Aliens, and the Next Frontier in Entrepreneurship?

Now, I know what you're thinking…

"Did I just open a newsletter about aliens from David Asarnow?"

Yes, you absolutely did. And yes, I'm dead serious about it. We're venturing a little off the beaten path today, but stick with me. It’ll be worth the ride.

By now, you may have already heard the news. A former U.S. intelligence officer named David Grusch made some pretty wild claims not too long ago.

He says the U.S. government has got its hands on "intact and partially intact non-human aircraft." Now, if that doesn't scream "alien spaceship," I don't know what does!

Crazy, right?

But here's the kicker: Congress seems to be taking it seriously. (Or at least, seriously enough that the news is making rounds on Capitol Hill and the internet faster than a UFO zooming across the night sky).

Grusch is talking about spacecraft that have either crash-landed or touched down here on Earth, composed of materials straight out of a sci-fi movie.

And as if that wasn't enough, he's suggesting that these crafts may not just be from out of this world, but from another DIMENSION.

"Quantum mechanics," he says, like we're all taking a stroll through an episode of Star Trek.

Now, I'm not here to tell you to believe in aliens or UFOs. That's a personal choice, just like whether you prefer Star Wars, Star Trek, or both (LIKE ME!)

But I want to share something that has been on my mind. Consider the vastness of the universe — it's so massive that it's nearly impossible for our human minds to fully grasp.

There are BILLIONS of galaxies, each filled with BILLIONS of stars, and so many planets we haven’t yet discovered.

In the grand scheme of all that cosmic real estate… isn't it a bit naive to think we're the only ones here?

To believe that Earth is the only speck in this mind-boggling expanse that managed to cook up some life? Just some food for thought.

And here's where I think it gets interesting from a business and Entrepreneurial standpoint…

Let's entertain this thought for a second: What if we're not alone in this universe?

What if there are other civilizations out there, advanced enough to travel through space (or even dimensions)?

It's mind-boggling, sure, but it also potentially means there's a whole new world of opportunity out there, just waiting to be tapped into.

If this is real, and these "non-human" entities have technology far beyond our own, the implications for business and tech are ASTRONOMICAL.

Imagine the kind of innovations we could come up with by studying and reverse-engineering this kind of tech.

It would make today's most advanced AI look like an old Atari console. That could mean BIG things for us as Entrepreneurs.

And let's be real for a second. If there are other life forms out there, wouldn't you want to understand them?

Build a rapport, maybe even collaborate?

Because I see that as a chance to not just grow, but to evolve our businesses. The market wouldn't just be global - it would be universal. The possibility of an interstellar economy isn't just exciting, it's revolutionary.

Now, I know there's a lot to unpack here. There's a good chance you're shaking your head or laughing as you read this — and that's fine.

Believe me, it's a lot to take in, and part of me thinks I might have gone off the deep end. But, as they say, the future is where you take it.

Heck, even if it's all just tales and conspiracy theories, it's worth considering the implications. At the very least, it's a thought exercise that can stretch our imagination and Entrepreneurial spirit.

Because if we're willing to embrace the unknown and unproven, who knows where we might end up?

Now, here's where I weigh in…

I'm thinking, sure, why not?

Aliens? UFOs? I can get on board with that.

Maybe they're already here, walking among us, doing a pretty good job at pretending to be human.

And if they are, it makes you wonder why the higher-ups don't want us to know. Could it be they're afraid we'll panic, or is there something more?

And if you're still not convinced, well, at least you've got a good story to tell at your next dinner party about this wacky Entrepreneur named Dave.

So, are we alone in the universe? Maybe, maybe not. But the possibilities that question presents are simply too intriguing to ignore.

As Entrepreneurs, we need to be ready for anything — even if it means preparing for the day when our market expands beyond the boundaries of our world.

Alien or not, let's keep our minds open and our businesses ready.

Because who knows?
